Ambox purple This program appears to use the same controls as its older versions, so all tutorial(s) should be the same for all versions.

Mictosoft Paint is probably the simplest program to create logos. Microsoft Paint does not include any special effects other than shading images, which is difficult to do because of the limited colors.

  • Developer: Microsoft Corporation

While Microsoft Paint is easy to use,it cannot create the special effects that Adobe Photoshop can. So, if you are creating a logo for a request that is requested to have special effects included in it, it is suggested to use the GIMP or Adobe Photoshop.

Basic Controls

Mouse, right-click to select paint, pencil, insert text box, color, other options.

To select text type, right-click and select "Text Toolbar."

Drag mouse over white space to draw with tool selected; White Space is the size of the image, adjust by moving the blue boxes and dragging to wanted size.

Notes

  • When creating logos, do not create them in .jpg or .jpeg format, as the image will turn out very pixelish and have an extreme amount of artifacts. Save as .png for best image quality.
  • Make sure to adjust the logo to the proper dimensions for a Wiki logo.
  • If you insert a box in paint, anything in clipboard or to be pasted will be forgotten by Paint. Save and reenter to insert image, or don't insert a box or line until finished pasting.
